В статье представлено исследование состояния современной легкой атлетики на постсоветском пространстве с точки зрения успешности выступления атлетов на ОИ и ЧМ в сравнении с результатами советского и постсоветского периодов. Выявлено сохранение преемственности советских тенденций с большим преимуществом успешности женских видов над мужскими во всех странах бывшего СССР, кроме стран Прибалтики. При этом конкурентность легкоатлетов мирового уровня можно констатировать только в 7 странах бывшего СССР из 15. После распада СССР активное развитие лёгкой атлетики высокого класса наблюдается только в России, Украине, Белоруссии, странах Балтии и отчасти в Казахстане. Легкоатлеты остальных постсоветских республик абсолютно неконкурентоспособны на мировой арене и за последние 30 лет были представлены максимум 1-2 спортсменами.
The purpose of this work was to analyze the state of modern athletics in the post-Soviet space from the point of view of the successful performance of athletes at the Olympic Games and World Cup and compare the results of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. The results of the study revealed the continuity of Soviet trends with a large advantage in the success of female sports over male ones in all countries of the former USSR, except for the Baltic countries. At the same time, the competitiveness of world-class athletes can be stated only in 7 countries of the former USSR out of 15. After the collapse of the USSR, the active development of high-class athletics is observed only in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic countries and partly in Kazakhstan. The track and field athletes of the remaining post-Soviet republics are absolutely uncompetitive on the world stage and over the past 30 years have been represented by a maximum of 1-2 athletes.
