In recent decades, the mechanisms for transferring intergenerational experience in care, development and upbringing in the family have fundamentally changed, while parents are responsible before the law for the health and development of their children. Currently, the education system does not provide comprehensive pedagogical support for families with children in the first year of life, but the experience of mentoring support for young parents by informal motherhood consultants is instructive. The purpose of the study is to explore the impressions of mothers who received mentoring support from informal motherhood consultants. The results of the study and their discussion: among respondents who received health-preserving mentoring assistance in various forms, more than 77% expressed completely positive impressions of the work of maternity consultants. Negative reviews were grouped into 3 groups - related to the organization and system of work of maternity consultants in general; related to the characteristics of personal interaction with a consultant; related to the professional activities of consultants. Each group has its own criteria, the analysis of which is useful for developing mentoring work with parents in order to protect the health of infants in the family. These studies indicate the need for design a holistic integrated system of supporting families for the purpose of preserving the health of children in the first year of life, taking into account the successful, but fragmented experience of informal actors supporting young parents.
