Modem socio-economic conditions, digitalization and science intensity of the main areas of life complicate the requirements for a modern specialist, actualizing the problem of developing socially significant qualities of students of technical universities, which make it possible to reduce the level of influence of educational and professional risks. Statistical data show a steady downward trend in the health and physical fitness of student youth. The introduction of digital content in educational programs significantly expands the scope of the traditional education system, but at the same time carries a number of negative aspects. A high level of physical inactivity, the replacement of verbal communication with a number, a sign and an image give rise to a situation of anxiety and stress, neuropsychic and emotional tension, and threats to the health of student youth. Based on the study of the experience of professional training, sports traditions of universities in the Samara region, identifying the opinions and interests of students, it has been established that martial arts, in particular boxing, have a high development potential in the formation of physical, sociopsychological qualities, properties of attention and stress resistance. The basis of the tested methodology was situational and problematic tasks aimed at developing the ability to predict the situation (anticipation), quickly analyze the situation in conditions of high emotional tension, efficiency and stability in activities, independence in choosing the most correct criterion for resolving a problem situation. The results of the formative experiment showed positive dynamics in all diagnosed indicators (volume, distribution and switching of attention, psychological performance and stability, strong-willed, communicative, leadership qualities), which confirms the effectiveness of the developed methodology
