The article presents a study on the determination of the placebo effect in the training of specialists at the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. The authors conducted classes with undergraduates of the 1st year of full-time study at IFKSIZ MPSU according to the curriculum, determined academic performance indicators in theoretical subjects and physical development, physical and functional readiness of students. Placebo was introduced in the experimental group depending on the tasks being solved. The undergraduates of the control group worked according to the curriculum without being distracted by "empty" invaluable classes. In the experimental and control groups, the content and number of study hours were the same – 120 credits. The undergraduates of the experimental group significantly improved the indicators of theoretical preparedness, as well as the tone and indicators of physical development. It is concluded that the placebo effect in the training of physical education specialists contributes to the improvement of professional competencies among graduates and the level of dedication in the educational process.
