<abstract xml:lang="ru">

The article reveals the use of electromyography as a complementary instrumental tool in conducting functional testing aimed at studying the endurance indicator of the superficial stabilizer muscles of the cervical spine in children with Down syndrome with concomitant instability of the cervical spine.
The purpose of the study is to determine the value of the physical endurance indicator of the stabilizer muscles of the cervical spine, as well as the existing asymmetries in their physical development.
Research methods and organization. The study used analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical testing using an instrumental diagnostic tool – an electromyograph. The study was conducted on the basis of the Leningrad Regional Clinical Hospital, at the department of functional diagnostics using an electromyograph model "Neuro-MVP-4". The study involved 3 individuals with Down syndrome aged 10, 12, and 14 years.
Research results and conclusions. The use of electromyography as an instrumental tool accompanying pedagogical functional testing increased the degree of objectivity of the obtained data by supplementing the temporal parameter with values of amplitude and frequency of the bioelectric response from the surface of the studied stabilizer muscles of the cervical spine. It was revealed that the use of electromyography makes it possible to increase the informativeness of functional testing by revealing asymmetries in the development of physical qualities of the studied muscle groups, and reinforces the criterion of effectiveness of introducing this method as an auxiliary instrumental tool that increases the accuracy of studying endurance parameters of muscle groups during pedagogical functional testing.
