The purpose of the study is to identify the problems and substantiate promising directions for engaging young people in physical education and sports under conditions of digital transformation. Research methods and organization. The work employed methods of theoretical analysis of scientific literature, content analysis of regulatory legal acts, systemic and comparative analysis of digital sports services, and generalization and synthesis of empirical data. The empirical base was made up of regulatory legal documents of the Russian Federation, official statistical data of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Rosstat, and the Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical System for the period 2020–2024, the results of sociological studies by VCIOM and FOM, as well as scientific publications by domestic and foreign authors for 2020–2025. Data processing was carried out using methods of systemic and logical analysis. Research results and conclusions. The main barriers of the digital environment hindering the physical activity of young people were identified (competition from digital leisure, the formation of sedentary behavior, and the unreliability of information); promising directions for the use of digital tools were substantiated: the creation of a unified federal digital platform, the development of phygital formats and hybrid classes, and the popularization of physical activity through digital media. The strategic task of the current period lies in the synergetic integration of the digital environment and physical activity, in which digital technologies become a tool for increasing motivation and accessibility of classes for the younger generation.
