В статье представлена методика оценки категории спортивной скалолазной трассы в дисциплине лазания на трудность. Методика построена на принципах лазания он-сайт и предназначена для оценки категории спортивной трассы на крупных всероссийских или международных соревнованиях. Оценка производится по формуле, учитывающей пять компонентов и позволяет получить количественное значение без учета субъективных мнений спортсменов. В качестве исходных единиц измерения используется трансформированная французская система оценки.
