The influence of individual characteristics of swimmers on the choice of specialization during the training stage

Abstract (English):
The purpose of the study is to methodologically substantiate and experimentally test the effectiveness of the selection and orientation of swimmers at the training stage (advanced specialization), taking into account individual characteristics. Research methods and organization. Methods of analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical experimentation, and statistical methods were used. The developed set of training sessions was implemented during the period from November 2024 to April 2025 as part of the additional educational program for sports training in swimming at Secondary School No. 19 in Irkutsk. Research results and conclusions. The effectiveness of the developed set of training sessions has been demonstrated, confirming the validity of the influence of individual characteristics of swimmers in choosing a specialization. The results obtained allow to conclude that such activities provide an opportunity to determine a swimmer's specialization: distance swimmer, sprinter, or all-rounder.
