It is possible to strengthen physical potential in the course of life in the course of rational physical activity, including in the aquatic environment. The aim of the study: to establish the general functional capabilities of first-year students who started swimming training. Attending the swimming pool twice a week in addition to physical education classes provided freshmen with an increase in their body stability in space. At the same time, the swimmers showed an increase in speed, strength and coordination characteristics.
