BISAC PSY PSYCHOLOGY
The article examines the issue of students choosing elective courses in physical education and sports at the university. The purpose of the study is to determine the interrelationship between the choice of elective courses in physical education and sports and motivation for academic activities, as well as to assess it in relation to students' physical fitness. Research methods and organization. Modern methods were applied in order to identify the functional state of the students involved. A psychological and pedagogical questionnaire was used to assess the level of motivation for academic activities. The study was conducted at the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management with the participation of 200 students. The reliability of the obtained results was determined using methods of mathematical statistics. Research results and conclusions. The results of the conducted study revealed a correlation between the choice of elective courses and motivation for academic activities, as well as a correlation with physical fitness, which is attributed to the high level of student motivation to engage in physical education and sports.
