The purpose of the study is to analyze the competencies of an electric and gas welder based on a professionogram in order to justify the use of professionally applied physical training to improve the efficiency and quality of work. Within the framework of the study, synthesis was used; analysis; classification; deduction; description; systematization; generalization; system analysis; content analysis; modeling. The conducted research allows us to conclude that there is a close relationship between the labor productivity of electric and gas welders and the level of their professionally oriented physical training, which should correlate with the competencies presented in the professionogram for the ideal candidate for the position.
