Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of the evolution of women's participation in professional sports. The study draws on a rich history, including early examples of women's participation in sport and overcoming limitations, while at the same time embracing contemporary challenges and perspectives, presenting important sociocultural and political aspects of the topic. The importance of understanding and recognizing the history of women's participation in sports was noted. The need to continue the fight for equality and justice in sport is made to ensure a brighter future for women participating in professional sport and for those who draw inspiration from their achievements.
