Influence of use of information technology on physical activity of technical university students
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The work examined the impact of using a fitness tracker on physical activity and exercise habits among students. Scientific works emphasize the wide range of application of information technologies in physical culture and sports. The purpose of the study was to study the influence of wearable technologies on physical activity and exercise habits among students. Participants were randomly assigned to either the control or experimental groups. Participants in the experimental group were given a Fitbit Charge 3 fitness tracker and asked to wear it daily for the duration of the four-week study. Physical activity and exercise habits were measured using self-report questionnaires at the beginning and end of the four-week study period. The results showed that the experimental group experienced significant increases in moderate physical activity, vigorous physical activity, and strength training com-pared to the control group. The findings suggest that the use of a fitness tracker can positively impact physical activity and exercise habits, improving the overall health and well-being of university students.
