Abstract (English):
This article highlights the history of the creation of hand-to-hand combat, the reasons and the importance of studying its basics in departmental educational institutions. The qualities that are developed by employees during training in this area of physical culture and sports are considered. The features of conducting classes on the study of techniques in sports improvement groups in educational institutions are highlighted, and the results shown by the cadets of the Vologda Institute of Law and Economics of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia are presented.
