Analysis of the importance of values among young athletes
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Nowadays, sport is increasingly embracing the values of sustainable development both globally and at the social and individual levels. If we consider the global nature of sport through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter - SDGs), which combine a commitment to change in solving the problems of social, economic and environmental development around the world, it becomes obvious that sport is not openly mentioned in the SDGs. Sport is also not spelled out in the objectives of sustainable development changes. At the same time, thanks to the global Olympic movement, sport is now widely recognized and promoted as a factor contributing to social and personal change. Turning to Olympism as a form of social global worldview, which has developed on the basis of humanistic principles of sports competitions since the ancient Olympic Games, we see more and more evidence that Olympism acts as a mechanism through which it is possible to ensure and cognize the sustainable development of values at the social and individual levels.
