Psychological portraiture is a universal operation of interest, firstly, for carrying out theoretical research, and in this case its materials are the basic source for constructing appropriate generalizations of general psychological, socio-psychological, psychological-age and other scientific aspects of human study. Secondly, psychological portraiture is very promising in its psychological and practical use to identify on its basis certain personal qualities or the functioning of appropriate mental functions that are important for mastering a relevant type of activity for a person and building on this basis teaching or educational tactics that contribute to the successful satisfaction of his request. Within the framework of the presented article, the authors intend to present the possibilities of using psychological portraiture in sports activities, and above all in terms of its contribution to improving training and competitive processes.
