Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the issue of the popularity of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO) among the population of the Samara region. Statistical data for the period 2019-2023 is provided. regarding the number of participants from among the residents of the Samara region who took part in the implementation of the “Ready for Labor and Defense” complex and citizens who received insignia. An analysis of the relationship between these indicators over a five-year period is presented. Steady positive dynamics in the studied indicators were revealed. It is noted that every year not only does the number of participants and holders of insignia increase, but also the percentage of citizens who received insignia from the total number of participants per year increases. This indicates the growing popularity of the “Ready for Labor and Defense” complex among residents of the Samara region. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the state policy is effective in attracting the population to a healthy lifestyle, physical activity and systematic exercise and sports.
