Abstract (English):
The article presents a study of the level of physical preparation of 12-13 year-old students according to the GTO standards. The need to improve the system of control over the physical preparation of schoolchildren in the «Southern Capital of Russia» and motivation for physical culture, sports, and the fulfillment of the state requirements of the GTO complex has been identified. A multi-level system of material incentives for the development of sports in a small town has been tested.
