The article presents the results of a survey of students of special correctional schools in the form of an online questionnaire. The purpose of the work is to find out the attitude of students with developmental disabilities to physical education and sports in order to improve the educational process of physical culture in special (correctional) schools. It was revealed that the majority of schoolchildren with developmental disabilities rated their level of health as normal and very good. Students of special correctional schools are interested in sports and know the types of martial arts, they would like to practice karate. Therefore, it is necessary for them to organize a system of additional physical education and develop its programmatic, normative, organizational and methodological foundations.
