Abstract (English):
The article presents a study on the peculiarities of organizing championships in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in freestyle wrestling, starting from 1956. An analysis of the protocols of individual and team championships since 2010 was conducted in order to determine possible options for conducting championships to successfully identify the strongest teams from uluses (districts) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It has been established that holding zonal championships of the republic with selection of the strongest for the final championship can have a positive impact on the development of freestyle wrestling.
