Comparative analysis of genetic predisposition results and competitive performance results of qualified biathletes
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The modern system of sports selection and orientation is based on the use of a large number of criteria, including genetic ones. The lack of reliable information about athletes' abilities obtained through genetic research can hinder proper training planning and, as a result, lead to a decrease in athletic achievements. In order to determine the objectivity of the obtained data on athletes' genetic predisposition, the article presents a comparative analysis of the results of genetic research with the performance of qualified biathletes. The analysis was conducted based on two criteria: the athlete's stress resistance and their predisposition to short and long distances. As a result of the conducted research, only one out of seven athletes showed statistically significant differences in performances on short and long distances, thereby justifying the genetic conclusion. There was
