Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article presents a study on the availability of various types of swimming pools and statistical indicators of population involvement in swimming activities in the regions of Russian Federation at the present stage. The indicators of swimming pool availability in Russia, as well as selectively in certain regions of Russia, have been identified based on eight federal districts. The study of the direction of physical and recreational services provided at pool facilities revealed widespread aqua aerobics and individual training with a coach, with diving activities being less represented. Overall, further development of sports and recreational services for the population based on swimming pools can be aimed at increasing swimming pool availability indicators (especially in certain regions) and strengthening the personnel resource. Additionally, there is a need to work on providing an accessible environment in swimming pools for people with limited mobility.
