Sports orienteering in China: problems and prospects for development

Abstract:
The article presents the results of theoretical analysis of scientific research data and observations on the practice of organizing educational and training processes in sports orienteering with students from educational institutions in China. Problems, their causes, and prospective directions for the development of sports orienteering in China are identified. Various factors influencing the dynamics of sports orienteering development and the unique characteristics specific to China are discussed. The analysis of research work has allowed for the formation of a contemporary image of the development of this sport, supported by specific data, and lays the groundwork for further specifying the reasons for failures and opportunities for success and competitiveness of orienteering athletes on the global sports arena.
