The formation of health-saving behavior among students, motivating them to preserve and strengthen their own health, is currently one of the priority tasks in the educational and developmental activities of universities. In order to comprehensively assess the effectiveness of the existing physical education system in universities, monitoring of students' physical development and fitness levels is conducted. The article presents the results of monitoring these indicators among students of a medical university, including an analysis of their performance in the norms of the GTO complex tests.
