The article discusses the structure and functional features of two-vector mentoring as a method of pedagogical support for the socialization of students of the Suvorov military schools of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the initial stage of training. Vertically, mentoring is organized through the interaction of first-year students and adult employees of an educational organization through the obedience of the former and the care of the latter. Ambivalence is also observed at the horizontality of peers: younger ones compete with older ones and, at the same time, cooperate with them. The author emphasizes that the success of this two-vector mentoring directly depends on filling the educational space with co-existence. Co-existence is carried out by the joint living of a circle of significant events by students and educators and is a form of education. The effectiveness of the proposed dual-vector mentoring is demonstrated by the results of experimental work on innovation implementation. As a result, the issue of training mentors is actualized, which indicates further prospects for research on the designated problem.
