The article discusses the topic of socio-economic problems related to physical education and sports in higher educational institutions. The main attention is paid to the issues of insufficient funding of sports programs, deterioration of infrastructure, limited accessibility of sports sections for students, the impact of distance learning on participation in sports events, as well as social barriers for students with disabilities and from various socio-economic backgrounds. The article provides examples of addressing such issues and suggestions for improving the situation.
