The purpose of the research presented in the article is a comparative analysis of the indicators of physical culture and sports development in the urban district of Pervouralsk and similar indicators in the Sverdlovsk region as a whole, in order to make adjustments to the municipal program for the development of physical culture and sports. The results of the analysis of dynamics and correlation analysis of indicators of physical culture and sports development are provided using the example of Pervouralsk, a city with a population of up to 150,000 people, located in the Sverdlovsk region and having a sufficiently developed sports infrastructure. The obtained results are compared with the dynamics of similar indicators in the Sverdlovsk region as a whole. The contradictions identified during the research allow us to conclude the advisability of making changes to the municipal program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Territory of Pervouralsk".
