Dynamics of performances of students of the national teams of Russian universities at the All-Russian Winter Universiades in 2020, 2022 and 2024
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article presents an analysis of the dynamics of the results of the performances of student-athletes of the strongest national teams of universities and regions of Russia at the VI (2020), VII (2022) and VIII (2024) Winter Universiades. It has been revealed that throughout the analyzed period, the leading universities in the country maintain their positions in the sports disciplines included in the Winter Universiade programs, such as cross-country skiing, speed skating, short track, orienteering, and curling. However, the range of sports included in these programs remains practically unchanged, depriving the strongest students of the opportunity to compete in other winter sports. This fact necessitates a significant expansion of the regulations for future Universiades by including ice hockey, alpine skiing, and figure skating.
