The article presents an analysis of the exercises in the control section of training programs for powerlifters with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). The issue of the informativeness of assessment tools used in testing the general and specialized physical fitness of athletes is discussed. The purpose of the study is to assess the informativeness of control exercises (tests) and their indicators used in the control sections of training programs for powerlifters with musculoskeletal disorders. Research methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, federal standards of sports training 'sports for individuals with musculoskeletal disorders,' sports training programs of leading adaptive schools in Russia, testing, pedagogical observation. Research results and conclusions. The protocols of competitions and the test results of athletes with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) in general physical fitness (GPF) and special physical fitness (SPF) were analyzed. The results shown in the control tests do not reflect the physical preparedness level of an athlete with MSD. Physical fitness standards only take gender differences into account, and the test exercises do not fully consider the specifics of this type of sport and the athlete's sports classification. The indicators of special physical fitness tests should predict the result in the athlete's competitive event. The need for additional scientific research aimed at developing sets of exercises for testing the general and special physical fitness of powerlifters with musculoskeletal disorders has been identified.
