Modem ice hockey is characterized by an increase in the specialization of athletes' training, power confrontation, and the speed of performing technical and tactical actions on the court. The issue of constructing model characteristics of technical and tactical actions of players to determine the sides of their preparedness, correction of training and competitive processes remains insufficiently studied. Goals. To develop model characteristics of technical and tactical actions of players of different roles to increase the effectiveness of competitive activities of highly qualified hockey players. Methods. Analysis and generalization of data from specialized literature and practical experience in assessing the competitive activity of highly qualified hockey players; modeling of technical and tactical actions of players; video analysis of world championships, analysis of protocols of competitive activity of hockey players from leading countries of the world and Russia; pedagogical observation; questionnaires; pedagogical experiment; expert evaluation method; methods of mathematical statistics. Results. According to the results of the expert survey, the importance of modeling as a component of the management system for the training of high-class hockey players, the effectiveness of modeling in the process of training highly qualified foreign hockey players, the priority of technical and tactical actions in modeling in ice hockey has been established. The approach to the construction of model characteristics of technical and tactical actions of hockey players of different roles for further application in competitive activities is substantiated, which is based on the principles of consistency, complexity, dynamism, individualization, adequacy, compliance, complexity, uniformity and variability, which makes it possible to predict changes in various components of hockey players' sportsmanship. Group and individual model characteristics of attacking and defensive technical and tactical actions of players in ice hockey have been developed for different roles: center and outfield striker, defender, goalkeeper, in different areas of the court - defense, offense and neutral. The introduction of model characteristics of technical and tactical actions of players of different roles made it possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of competitive activities of hockey players
