Abstract:
A method for selecting the optimal parameters of the Elo rating is proposed. Based on six years of statistics, the optimal parameters were selected. It is shown that this method of selection of parameters can be applied in other martial arts. The influence on the regional rating of athletes from other regions is also considered. A method for estimating the rating of such athletes is proposed. With the use of these improvements, the regional rating was recalculated. It is shown that this rating demonstrates the distribution of arm wrestlers by skill level much better
