The article examines the awareness of students of the Kuban State Technological University (KubSTU) about the impact of physical activity on mental activity, and also identifies possible reasons why students consciously or unconsciously refuse physical activity. Also among the objectives of the study is to identify the most popular sports among students of KubSTU, and to identify the attitude of students to the sports sections of the university. The study was carried out using a questionnaire, the sample consisted of 250 students of 1-4 courses of KubSTU aged 17 to 21 years. Based on the results of the survey, answers were given to all questions posed for the purposes of the study, as well as practical recommendations were given to the university on attracting students of KubSTU to sports sections. It is recommended to conduct repeated studies after the implementation of the developed recommendations
