The relevance of the study is dictated by the need to study the basic characteristics of self-attitude as the most important component of self-esteem. The specifics of the structure and content of the phenomenon of self-attitude are directly related to the specific age stage of personality formation, its crisis periods. Adolescence is the most unstable, contradictory in the aspect of the formation of the "I - concept". The inadequacy of self-awareness in an ever-changing world, including due to the distortion of the media, QMS standards of body perception leads to deformation of eating behavior of adolescents. There is a high probability of the relationship between their individual characteristics of self-attitude and the formed eating behavior. The results of an empirical study proving the correlation of adolescents' self-attitude with their choice of patterns of food addiction are presented and interpreted. The conclusion is made about the relationship between the characteristics of negative, positive and ambivalent self-attitude in adolescents with emotional and restricted type of eating behavior. The directions of psychological and pedagogical prevention and correction of food addictions at this age are specified. Sample - 80 students of secondary schools in Saratov at the age of 14. Diagnostic material - a method for determining the components of a person's self-attitude (MIS) in the dynamic characteristics of 9 scales [1] and a Dutch questionnaire for determining the type of eating behavior DEBQ. Statistical procedures: correlation analysis according to Spearman's criterion (Sta-tistica 8.0)
