In recent years, attracting students from abroad to domestic universities has been an important component of the educational policy of the Russian Federation. Grant programs for studying abroad, double degree systems enhance academic mobility. As a result, the proportion of foreign students is growing at universities in various countries, including the Russian Federation. This article analyzes the methods of adaptation of foreign students in Russia and the UK. The process of adaptation and socialization of students in any country is very complex and multi-level. The main attention in the work is focused on the characteristic features of the stages of adaptation in universities. The study revealed a number of conclusions that need to be taken into account in the course of organizing the social adaptation of foreign students
