The development of a system of accounting and evaluation of publication activity and scientific activities of scientific and pedagogical workers of educational organizations of the MIA of Russia remains controversial issues at the moment. According to the established practice, each educational organization independently determines such a system aimed at achieving the values of scientific performance indicators fixed by departmental regulations. One of such significant results of the activities of educational organizations of the MIA of Russia is scientific articles whose assessment as an information object has a rather complex structure if we take into account its management aspects. In the article, the authors briefly review the regulatory regulation of publication activity in educational organizations of the MIA of Russia, the place of scientific articles in the system of accounting and evaluation of publication activity of the requirements of which should meet the accounting and evaluation of the results of scientific activity
