The article examines the influence of the modem pedagogical process on university students, details the impact of adverse factors caused by educational activities on their health. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign experience, the authors investigate the importance of performance indicators as one of the most reliable criteria for assessing the quality of functioning of the body, as well as identifying pathological changes. Based on the data obtained and the results of their processing, the most informative performance indicators are substantiated, providing the possibility of monitoring changes occurring in the body of university students during the year. The research data presented in the paper allow us to recommend the use of performance indicators in order to detect hidden forms of diseases in advance and, based on them, take preventive measures
