The article considers the essence of patriotic education as an important task aimed at increasing the value of civic responsibility, strengthening state and national identity, and educating true patriots of one's country. There are various methods for accomplishing this task, so we conducted a study, the purpose of which was to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the methods of patriotic education currently used in educational institutions. The results of the study will allow us to modify or improve the methods of educating young patriots in order to increase the interest of schoolchildren in the materials studied and instill in them important feelings: feelings of responsibility, love and pride in their country
