The article notes that throws are an important means that allows the police officers in the confrontation with the offender to transfer him to a prone position, in which the offender's ability to resist is significantly reduced, which makes it more reliable to apply techniques to restrict his freedom of movement. At the same time, the role of throws in the current regulatory documents on the physical training of police officers is unreasonably underestimated, the description of the technique of their demonstration does not correspond to the conditions of operational and official activity. The training methodology requires the inclusion in the content of the section "Fighting techniques of wrestling" of the normative documents of the sports component, which makes it possible to ensure that the employees of the Department of Internal Affairs have the skills and abilities to use throws in conditions of resistance of the parties
