The article reflects the results of the authors' analytical studies carried out as part of the state assignment on the topic «Development of a standard model for the provision of sports and recreation services by non-governmental organizations, including the procedure for monitoring their quality and guidelines for their implementation» (2023). The purpose of the study was to conduct a gender and age, statistical and qualitative analysis of the involvement of the population in physical culture and sports in the Siberian Federal District on the example of regions with different population sizes. The analysis of statistical materials reflecting different indicators of the involvement of the population of the Siberian Federal District in physical culture and sports activities was carried out. The gender and age characteristics of the contingent involved in different institutions were revealed. Analyzed quantitative indicators reflecting the structural composition of the contingent of people involved in various forms of physical culture and sports activities. The indicators of the number of institutions and organizations of various types that implement physical culture and sports work in different regions of the Siberian Federal District are compared. The data obtained can be used to continue scientific research, compare and compare indicators for other regions, in other time intervals. Also, the information obtained can be used to improve the physical culture and sports work management system.
