The purpose of the study is to study the level of physical fitness of schoolchildren of pre-conscription age according to the results of a monitoring study. During the study, physical fitness of schoolchildren was tested in 7 tests assessing speed ability, speed and strength ability, strength ability, flexibility and general endurance. The results were compared with the control standards for the discipline "Physical Education" and the standards of tests (tests) of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (GTO). The test data obtained allowed us to identify significant differences in most of the indicators between the test results of young men of pre-conscription age and the standards, and also revealed a pronounced within-group dispersion of results for all indicators of schoolchildren, indicating a heterogeneous level of general physical fitness.
