The article presents the results of a study of the correlation analysis of the parameters of socio-psychological adaptation and personality traits of the big five in athletes with disabilities. In our study, we came to the conclusion that the most favorable personality traits for the adaptation process are “self-control” and “openness to eXperience”. These personality traits increase the likelihood of athletes forming acceptance of their individual characteristics, increase internal control, thanks to which training and competitive activities can be carried out more effectively in athletes with disabilities.
