Introduction. A contradiction has been revealed - on the one hand, good physical fitness is a necessary and scientifically justified requirement for flight work, and on the other hand, according to the survey, cadets do not consider physical fitness an important quality for a modern civilian pilot. The purpose of the study: To study the level of physical fitness of first-year cadets. Organization of the study: Young men aged 17-19, who are first-year cadets, enrolled for training in the specialty "Organization of flight work" in the number of 84 people, were examined. The results of the study and their discussion. The data of the analysis of the physical fitness of cadets-future pilots of various years of admission are given. The following indicators of physical qualities were studied: running 100 meters, running 3 km, pulling up from the vis on a high crossbar, long jump from a place. We analyzed the standards of the TRP and the standards of the Institute for first-year cadets. It has been established that first-year pilots have excellent speed and strength qualities and very low endurance indicators. Conclusions. The obtained data of the article can be used to prepare applicants for admission to the flight institute, as well as for the rational construction and correction of the training process in physical culture.
