This article is devoted to the organization of the training process in the sport of "kickboxing" with students of a departmental university. An exemplary scheme for training students is presented, which basically involves the formation of self-defense skills using kickboxing. The scientific novelty of the results of the study lies in the use of kickboxing in the educational process of students of a departmental university. The practical significance of the results of the study will allow specialists in physical culture and sports, coaches, teachers to modify the training process and educational activities of students of departmental and civil universities of various profiles of education.
