This article describes the relevance of the issue of the study of the gender stereotype characteristic of 1st-year students at the Togliatti State University (TSU). The purpose of the experiment is to determine the gender stereotype in boys and girls aged 18-19. The paper describes the research methodology, presents diagnostic results that complement the practical significance of the concept of androgyny. The predominance of the gender type androgyny in boys and girls aged 18-19 years was revealed. Conclusions are drawn about the influence of society and living conditions on the formation of the gender type of modern youth.
