This article discusses the modem attitude of teenagers involved in kickboxing to the process of forming their own personality. Modern sport is going through hard times, due to many reasons, including foreign policy. Since the time of Pierre de Coubertin, world sport has remained aloof from world politics. In recent decades, sports have become much younger, new types have appeared and those that were part of the first Olympic Games have changed. In this paper, we have considered the process of individualization of kickboxers aged 13-17 as a complex multi-stage process. Our task was to show the importance of one of the stages of individualization of young athletes - self-esteem and consider its key features.
