The issue of physical fitness of young students remains relevant, despite the introduction of the GFSK TRP. The purpose of our study is to assess the dynamics of students ' physical fitness using TRP tests during the period of studying elective subjects in physical culture and sports in universities. The study conducted in two stages at three universities in Moscow. Volzhsky district of the Volgograd region during 20202023. 204 students took part in this experiment. Based on the final results, a comparative characteristic was carried out. The results of testing students who entered the first year indicate an average level of speed and strength abilities and flexibility, while speed abilities, endurance and strength were at a low level. At the end of the 3rd year, a positive trend was observed in boys in speed training, and in girls in speed and strength training. Students of the polytechnic university tend to improve their results slightly. Based on the results of the study, practical recommendations were given
