The purpose of the study: to study the amplitude characteristics of the neuromuscular apparatus of athletes who have completed their careers while performing strength exercises. Methodology and organization of research. To substantiate the research problem, an experiment of a ascertaining nature was conducted. In the course of the study, the amplitude characteristics of skeletal muscles were studied during relaxation and extreme tension of the muscles most active when performing strength exercises using electoromyography (EMG). Statistical processing of the research results was carried out on a Pentium 4 PC with the Windows XP Professional operating system using Microsoft Excel software packages. The study involved 26 men who had completed their sports career (30-35 years old). The results of the study and their discussion. The results of the study show that the mechanisms of regulation of the electrical activity of skeletal muscles have distinctive physiological features and are interrelated with indicators of motor fitness. Conclusions. When performing strength exercises, more motor units are involved in the work, and their synchronization increases.
