The article analyzes the effect of air temperature on the distribution of results in marathon running for men. The results of the Moscow International Marathon in 2022 (+14 0 S) and 2019 (+5 0 S) are compared in three age groups: 23-29, 34-39 and 50-54 years. It was found that with a decrease in air temperature, the proportion of high results increases in the group of 23-29 years old, whereas in older age groups such an effect of air temperature was not detected. At the same time, at distances from 1 to 10 km, reduced air temperatures increased the proportion of high results in the group of men under 50 years of age. This pattern of distribution of results in long-distance running suggests that the effect of low temperatures is due to the condition of the runners' connective tissue: an increased content of amorphous forms of collagen that harden at low temperatures in younger runners, an increase in the viscosity of the hyaluronic acid base with an increase in pH during running at distances shorter than marathon
