Abstract:
The article investigates the relationship between the number of passes in possession and the probability of a goal in collegiate rugby competitions. The number of passes in possession ranged from 0 to 13. It has been found that about 80% of possession includes a range of 0 to 7 passes. An exploratory analysis of the data shows that 0 passes account for 48,6% of ball possessions, while the probability of a scoring possession after 1-6 passes averages only 38,7%
