This article presents a study of the psychological parameters of patients after lower limb amputation. Data from psychological diagnostics of the emotional state, methods of coping behavior, components of rehabilitation potential and psychological well-being are presented. Emotional disorders were identified in the form of increased levels of anxiety and depression and significant changes in the bodily image. Women with high amputation of the lower extremities showed a tendency to use maladaptive coping strategies, while men, on the contrary, had adaptive ones. Indicators of rehabilitation potential are closely related to the psychological well-being of patients and the use of coping strategies “Planning”, “Escape-Avoidance” and “Accepting Responsibility”
